Acaba d'arribar a Catalunya. L'entorn, la llengua, la vida quotidiana segurament són nous per a vostè.

Des del Govern de la Generalitat de Catalunya el
volem ajudar a incorporar-se al país. Aquesta guia d'acollida pretén contribuir-hi. Per la seva part, caldrà la seva voluntat d'integrar-se a la nostra societat si vol descobrir Catalunya i els seus habitants, aprendre la llengua pròpia d'aquest país, el català,
i respectar els seus valors fonamentals. Acollint-lo, Catalunya li proposa aquest compromís recíproc.

El nostre país té una llarga tradició integradora. En el transcurs de la seva història ha acollit immigrants vinguts d'arreu. Catalunya reconeix la seva diversitat com un enriquiment. Per això, protegeix i respecta la vida privada de cadascú, i garanteix la llibertat ideològica, religiosa i de culte. La llei també prohibeix la discriminació en totes les seves formes.
Des de Catalunya, i per tant des de les seves administracions, es du a terme una política d'integració perquè tothom visqui en harmonia en el seu si i es mantingui la cohesió social que la caracteritza.

Tanmateix, els estrangers, com els catalans, tenen
el deure de respectar totes les lleis. Per tant, les lleis s'apliquen a tots els qui viuen dins del territori de Catalunya, indiscriminadament, respectant els principis democràtics d'igualtat de drets, especialment entre homes i dones.

Si ha escollit residir de manera permanent a Catalunya, significa que deu tenir la voluntat d'integrar-se a la societat catalana, i formar part del seu projecte comú.

From the autonomous Government, the Generalitat de Catalunya, we want to help you to join our country. This welcoming guide seeks to contribute to this. On your side, you will need a desire to integrate yourself into our society if you want to discover Catalonia and its inhabitants, learn Catalan, the country's language, and respect its fundamental values. In welcoming you, Catalonia proposes this reciprocal commitment to you.

Our country has a long tradition of integration. Over the course of its history, it has taken in immigrants from all over the world. Catalonia recognizes its
diversity as enrichment. For this reason, it protects and respects everyone's private life, and guarantees freedom of ideology, religion, and worship. The law also prohibits discrimination in all of its forms.
Catalonia and all of its governing bodies carry out a policy of integration, so that everyone lives in harmony within it, and so that the social cohesion that characterizes Catalonia is maintained.

Foreigners, as well as Catalans, have the duty, in turn, of respecting all of the laws. Therefore, the laws are applied to all of those who live within the territory of Catalonia indiscriminately, respecting the democratic principles of equal rights, particularly between men and women.

If you have chosen to reside on a permanent basis in Catalonia, this means that you must have the desire to become integrated into the Catalan society, and form a part of its common project.
