Competencies
The Statute of Autonomy gives the Generalitat of Catalonia
the powers which enable it to carry out self-government. These
can be exclusive, concurrent and shared with the State or
executives.
Financing
system
The real exercise of the powers adopted by the Generalitat,
aimed at achieving a self-government that implies an authentic
political and administrative autonomy, requires being able
to have the necessary financial means available.
The
territory’s administrative organisation
Catalonia is divided administratively into municipalities
and counties. In addition, the conurbation of Barcelona has
metropolitan bodies. Finally, other institutions dependant
on the State should be mentioned: the provincial councils,
the Delegation of the State Government and the Justice Administration.
