Presentation
The Police School of Catalonia, in collaboration with the Comissioner of the Centre of Security Studies, coordinates a research about Violence between young people in leisure zones: state of the art and measures adopted by the institutional figures. The project has a duration of two years (June 2005 to May 2007) and receives the support of the European Union in the Daphne II programme.
Also participating in the project are four institutions of different European countries, more specifically,
- Research Group in Criminology and Sociology of Law. University of Gent. Belgium.
- Centre for Sociological Research into Law and Penal Institutions (CESDIP). France.
- Promotion and Development of Security Policies and Local Police Service. Emilia-Romagna Region. Italy.
- Criminology School of the Law Department of the University of Porto. Portugal.
Objectives
The aim of the project is the elaboration of a comparative research in different European countries about the dimensions of violence between young people in leisure zones and about the effectiveness of the preventive measures adopted by the different social and institutional figures in this aspect.
