The website of the Catalan Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Research ( http://www.aatrm.net ) is committed to offer –in a transparent way– quality, rigorous and current information on the CAHTA's activities, products and services, and also on health technology assessment and the CAHTA's competencies in the field of health care research.

This information can be accessed free of charge by the Health Care System professionals and by citizens; we maintain versions in three different languages: Catalan, Spanish and English. However, we want to state clearly that the information provided was created to support the decision-making process, but is not intended to replace, in no case, the physician-patient relationship.

History   

In April 1997, and before the 13 ^th Congress of the International Society of Technology Assessment in Health Care, which was organised by the CAHTA, our website was first launched, under the domain www.aatrm.es.

Since then, we were committed to permanently improve it to offer an optimal service to all users. This commitment made it possible that, since its beginning, all the reports and publications issued by the CAHTA have been accessible free of charge in electronic format, and they can be downloaded from the web site instantaneously, and without the need of any intermediary.

After this long period, in 2004 we decided to remodel the web's graphic design to keep it in line with the new trends, and following the style guidelines of the www.gencat.net  portal, approved by and Agreement of the Catalan Government on January 8, 2003, which established a set of common graphic design features to attuned to the Catalan Government corporative graphic image. We hope this new design is more attractive, faster and more effective when accessing it multiple contents.
