The traffic situation, on your mobile
Remember the restriction on the use of the mobile while driving. To avoid accidents, it is important for the driver not to make the consultation while he is circulating.
We often find out about traffic incidents when it is already too late, either because we are already in a traffic jam, or because we have already arrived home.
You may now be informed about the traffic situation in real time and from anywhere, by consulting with your mobile telephone. . The Head Office of Citizen Attention, in collaboration with the Servei Català de Trànsit, has developed gencat Trànsit, a service that allows for the obtainment of live images from the main cameras that are distributed in the road and highway network of Catalonia and warnings of fire on your mobile. gencat Trànsit is already operating in the test stage.
You have two manners in which to know about the transit:
By sending an SMS with the word cameras to 5012 you may download the application with which the images captured by the cameras in real time may be consulted. It will also be permitted for a list of the main points of road affectation to be consulted.
The application takes up 76 KB and only has to be downloaded once. Each time you visualize the image of a camera, you will be accepting a transferral of some 17 KB. The cost of the downloads will depend on the tariffs of your mobile telephone operator, and it will be between 3 and 10 cents.
*Warning!: The application is delivered within a WAP push alert message, not by SMS. This messages are saved in a different folder depending on the model of the phone. For more information, see How to dowload the application.
In both cases, the cost of the messages is standard for SMS of these characteristics (between 15 and 30 cents).

B) Requesting the alert service by SMS
Sending an SMS to 5012, with the word traffic followed by the name of the road or province that you wish to consult (for example, traffic C31 or traffic Girona), you will receive an SMS with the traffic incidents detected. You can receive information about all the Spanish provinces, provided by the Dirección General de Tráfico.
In both cases, the cost of the messages is standard for SMS of these characteristics (between 15 and 30 cents).
