The
Baix Empordà, the county par excellence. Sea and mountains a
place of dreams

|
|
Mountains,
plain and sea combine in natural harmony andmake this small
territory a jewel of content. Still today, the landscape bears
witness to all those inhabitants who, right down through
history, have left behind significant traces in the many
archaeological sites and in the
civil and religious buildings. Its valuable historical
heritage and the protected status of 33% of the county under
the Areas of Natural Interest Plan lay before us a territory
that has managed to combine protected zones with zones
of tourism excellence. The accommodation, mostly family-run,
is distributed throughout the county, but especially in the
coastal sector which has a wide range of hotels,
campsites and apartments. In the interior there are small
hotels and rural accommodation in centuries-old farmhouses.
The
mountain bike (MTB) routes we present below will allow you to
get into the Gavarres and Ardenya mountain ranges,where you
will be able to enjoy nature and the peace and tranquillity
you can breathe while engaging in
your favourite sport: mountain biking
