To prevent
you from getting lost, each mountain-bike trail is provided with
specific plates every 500 m (545 yards) and especially at
crossings or when the direction suddenly changes..
. |
There are
five types of plates:
. |

Direction
plates: They
show the right direction that must be followed as well as the
number and colour-code difficulty rating of the trail. |

Linking
plates between Centres BTT of
Catalonia: They show the direction that must be followed in
order to link up with other Centres BTT de Catalonia’s
routes.
.
. |

Incorrect
direction plates. Sometimes, in order to reinforce where the
correct path is at some of the crossroads,
there are signs indicating which paths lead in the wrong
direction.

Warning
plates: Watch
out whenever you find one of these plates. They warn you of a
possible danger, e.g. a busy road, a stream or a sudden change
of direction.

Dual
circulation plates: Trail section in which you may meet
other riders coming the other way.
.
.. |

A
single post can bear several different plates, e.g. bike parking
area, bike washing service, showers and restrooms.
.
. |

Situation
plates: These show you where the showers are located.
